PROFESSOR LENE FOSS

Lene Foss is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the School of Business and Economics, UiT – The Arctic University of Norway. She is Programme Director for the Master of Science in Business Creation and Entrepreneurship, and has been engaged in the commercialization of innovative university based ideas. Her research concentrates on academic entrepreneurship, universities as entrepreneurial institutions, responsible innovation and the role of gender in entrepreneurship and innovation. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of how to develop universities toward their third mission.  Lene has contributed as a faculty member to national Phd Schools in Norway: Enterprise Development and Worklife Research (EDWOR), and the Norwegian Research School in Innovation (NORSI), and supervises several PhD students. She is a reviewer for several journals,  and is Editorial Consultant and Board Member for the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship. She has been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Small Business Management, and currently serves on its International Research Board.  Foss has been academic visitor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA; Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK, and Säid Business School, University of Oxford, UK.
