Paul Burns is Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Bedfordshire where he was Dean of the Business School and had been Pro Vice Chancellor. He retired in 2015. Over a career spanning more than forty years he has been an academic, an accountant and an entrepreneur. Previously Professor of Small Business at Cranfield School of Management and Director of 3i European Enterprise Research Centre, he started his academic career at Warwick University Business School. He has been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Business School and a Visiting Professor at the Open University Business School. He has authored dozens of books and hundreds of journal articles and research reports including the market-leading textbook Entrepreneurship and Small Business: Start-up, Growth and Maturity (2016), New Venture Creation: A framework for entrepreneurial start-ups (2014) and Corporate Entrepreneurship: Innovation and strategy in large organizations (2013).
