Professor David Rae

Professor David Rae is a leading innovator and researcher in the human and social dynamics of entrepreneurship, learning and small business management. He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurial Learning, and his innovative work has been recognised internationally for contributing to research, policy and practice in entrepreneurial learning and education. He has advised on entrepreneurship education policy, frameworks and guidelines in the UK and internationally. He is active in the ISBE Special Interest Group communities.
David served as a Board Member of ISBE from 2007-13 and as VP for Education. He has worked in the UK as Professor of Business & Enterprise at the University of Lincoln; in Canada as Dean of the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University; and as the first Executive Dean for Research & Knowledge Exchange at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln. He has also served as a Director of Enterprise Educators UK. He is now Director of the Centre for Enterprise & Innovation at Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University.
His recent books include ‘Opportunity-centred entrepreneurship’ (2015) and ‘Entrepreneurial Learning: New Perspectives in Research, Education and Practice’ (2015).
