Dr Ciarán mac an Bhaird

Ciaran Mac_anBhairdCiarán mac an Bhaird is currently lecturer of Business and Management at Fiontar (Enterprise), Dublin City University and Director of USTART, the DCU Student Start-up Accelerator. His research interests include capital structure and financial management in small and medium sized enterprises; angel investing; financing young high-tech firms, particularly cloud computing firms (SAAS), and public policy related to provision of support to SMEs.

He is the author of ‘Resourcing Small and Medium Sized Enterprises’ (Springer-Verlag, Berlin), which was launched by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation last year. He proposed and advised on the establishment of a business angel network in the Irish midlands, and links entrepreneurs with funders on a continuous basis.
He holds a number of board memberships, including Chairperson of Gael Linn, an Irish educational and cultural organisation.
