ISBE member shares how taking a community development approach can help businesses better recover from flooding

ISBE member Adrian Ashton was recently interviewed for Connections Radio on how his business has been affected by flooding on multiple occasions. He also shared how taking approaches that focus on supporting other businesses’ recovery ahead of his own, has meant he has been able to not only better survive the experiences but enhance his own, and the wider business community’s, resilience against future ‘biblical catastrophes’.
It is hoped that this interview can act as a case study in helping inform future strategies to enhance the resilience of local economies through taking new approaches that engage non-traditional stakeholders in responses to business crises.
