B Collective – the Millin Charity

ISBE (the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) is always keen to work with local businesses when we bring our annual conference to different cities and we were especially pleased to work with B Collective and the Millin Charity this year. Due to a growing awareness of our environmental impact as an Institute, we decided to run a much more sustainable event in Newcastle in November, moving our conference programme from a paper version to online, stopping both the use of delegate bags and the printing of marketing materials. Working with B Collective and the Millin Charity gave us a great opportunity to combine both our wish to work with a local small business and this determined push towards running a sustainable conference.

We were delighted with the reusable cups that the charity put together for our 330 delegates. We worked closely with the team and produced cups that look great and created a real buzz amongst our delegates, many of whom, we think, sneaked a few spares into their luggage as gifts! They were also an ideal way for us to showcase the ISBE brand and we were particularly pleased that it gave us the opportunity to work with another of our key partners, IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs), who kindly co-sponsored the cups.

We will continue to work with our conference hosts, Newcastle University and Northumbria University, to keep up the momentum of discussions at the conference, and look forward to having B Collective and the Millin Charity as an important part of our follow-on activities
