As part of the Northumbria Enterprise and Business Support 2 (NEBS 2) project, the role requires detailed technical and professional knowledge and expertise across the full range of business start-up and growth support activities and involves working closely with colleagues across different teams internally and external advisors, demonstrating initiative, creativity and problem-solving and a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
The NEBS 2 project provides a coherent package of services to enhance the competitiveness and growth of small/medium-sized enterprises and the creation of new enterprises in the North East LEP’s more developed areas. The project will support new and existing SMEs, benefitting from specialist sector expertise and knowledge within the University to support SME growth, improving business performance and competitiveness. This project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
This full-time fixed-term role is based on City Campus, Newcastle.
The post-holder will be responsible as the primary contact for the provision of specialist professional enterprise guidance and support, through a range of tailored activities provided to all students and recent graduates, to ensure Northumbria students and graduates entering self-employment/business start-up are supported to develop their knowledge, skills and experience to enable them to successfully research, develop, launch and grow viable enterprising ventures.
