Professor Allan Gibb

Allan has worked extensively in the field of entrepreneurship and independent business development in over 70 countries throughout the world.

He established the first European university-based Small Business Centre at Durham University Business School in 1971 which developed over the next 30 years into a substantial organisation. It delivered the first national UK programmes in schools and college enterprise education, the first UK programmes for new venture management, business survival and growth and the first programmes for the national development of the official UK small firms counselling service and enterprise agency development, the latter in partnership with Business in the Community. Many of these programme models have been disseminated around the world often in partnership with international organisations. Allan has been an advisor to many governments as well as to the European Union.
