We are sharing with you an important piece of research from the Women’s Enterprise Policy Group (WEPG). Launched today, this ‘Framework of Policy Actions to Build Back Better for Women’s Enterprise’ aims to address the current gaps in Covid-19 policies and wider enterprise support for women.
Current evidence indicates that women face a catastrophic future ahead with a tsunami of job losses and business closures, unless the Government and the devolved administrations develop policy and investment streams that serves women, recognises the additional challenges that they face, and introduces measures which will facilitate their business survival and growth.
As part of the WEPG, we have come together with leading women entrepreneurs, researchers, business support providers, and social entrepreneurs from across the UK to urgently call on the Chancellor to bring us to the policy table to help shape Covid-19 enterprise policy that ‘Builds Back Better’ for women entrepreneurs, for the economy, and for society.
You can find out more about our six policy asks and download the full framework here.
We ask you to support the recommendations of this report and use your influence and networks to ensure that the needs of women are recognised and their economic potential for job creation, innovation, and in rebuilding the UK’s economy is harnessed.
