ISBE Board Director, Sue Smith is raising money for spinal research, a charity which conducts valuable research to find a cure for paralysis.
She will be hiking 3 peaks in 3 days in 3 different countries. This is a big challenge for her but she wanted to support this wonderful charity due to very personal reasons.
Every year, 1,000 people in the UK are told they will never walk again. Her husband suffered a spinal cord injury through a very simple accident at the age of 24 by diving through a wave whilst they were on holiday. Like many similar injuries, the impact was devastating leaving him permanently paralysed from the chest down.
