Following a vote amongst the Institute’s trustees, ISBE is very pleased to announce that Professor Kiran Trehan has been appointed Deputy President.
The role of Deputy President was brought in to support the work of the ISBE President and Kiran will take up the new position at this year’s annual conference in Birmingham on the 7th and 8th of November.
Kiran currently serves as Vice President for Research at the Institute with responsibility, amongst other duties, for the Research & Knowledge Exchange (RAKE) award. At the conference, she will also be chairing the Opening Keynote and the Closing Plenary sessions.
Outside of ISBE, Kiran is Professor of Leadership and Enterprise Development, and Director of the Centre for Women’s Enterprise, Leadership, Economy & Diversity, Director of External Engagement, and Head of subject group Entrepreneurship and Local Economy at Birmingham University. Kiran is a key contributor to debates on leadership, Enterprise development and diversity.
On her appointment as Deputy President, Kiran comments ‘ I am delighted to be working with the president, the board and the members of the Institute. I am excited about advancing an agenda which is impactful, influences research, policy and practice and ensures the work of the Institute continues to develop the next generation of researchers’.
ISBE President, Professor Gideon Maas, says ‘I am delighted that Kiran was selected as Deputy President of ISBE and am looking forward to working with her to achieve ISBE’s targets’.
