New ISBE Deputy President appointed

ISBE is very pleased to announce that Dr Lorna Treanor has been appointed Deputy President with effect from 1st February 2023. Lorna will take up the position of ISBE President after the next ISBE Annual General Meeting at this year’s  conference in Birmingham 8th-10th November.

Lorna currently serves as Vice President for Research & Communities at the Institute with responsibility, amongst other duties, for the Research & Knowledge Exchange (RAKE) award and oversight of ISBE’s network of Special Interest Groups and Communities of Practice. Her involvement in ISBE extends back over the past decade or more, particularly in her involvement in establishing and growing ISBE’s Gender and Enterprise Network into one our strongest Special Interest Groups.

Outside of ISBE, Dr Lorna Treanor is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Nottingham University Business School. Her research interests lie in the area of entrepreneurial behaviour; specifically, how gender influences entrepreneurial activity, outcomes and learning. On her appointment as Deputy President, Lorna comments ‘ I am delighted to be working with the President, the Board and the members of the Institute.  I am excited about advancing an agenda which is impactful, influences research, policy and practice and ensures the work of the Institute continues to develop the next generation of researchers’.

ISBE President, Professor Andrew Henley, says ‘I am delighted that Lorna was selected as Deputy President of ISBE. Lorna has been a hugely committed Vice President for Research since 2020, and am I looking forward to working with her over my remaining period as President in continuing to development ISBE’s support for researchers and practitioners in the field of entrepreneurship and small business’.
