Professor David Wilemon

It is with great sadness that the Rural Entrepreneurship Sig notes the death of Professor David Wilemon at the age of 82. David was in recent years a regular paper contributor to the Rural Entrepreneurship track.   As well as being an educator, David ran his own small holding and was insatiably curious about anything to do with farming and rurality.

His presentations were genuinely informative and interesting and he was able to engage his audience with good humour.  His presentations on farm development strategies such as Minimum Till techniques were novel and were often mini-history lessons.   He told me on several occasions how stimulating he found the ISBE conference and in particular how much joy he derived from watching new researchers presenting their work.

His gentle presence and good humour will be missed.
