The Enterprise and Start-Up team (part of Student Futures in Cardiff University) operates in three exciting, but distinct areas:
- Working with teams across Student Futures and more widely across the University to engage students with enterprise and/or innovation projects in line with the University’s Civic Mission, public engagement activities and other initiatives. These projects often involve a competition or pitching element with students working in teams.
- Developing and delivering entrepreneurial skills sessions to students to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset throughout their student experience.
- Business start-up and mentoring, with seed funding-allocation and an annual Student Start-Up Awards. This section of the team is supported by Welsh Government funding and as such, is subject to regular reporting and reviews.
The project officer will work with colleagues in the service, in academic Schools and alongside other services in the University to design and deliver programmes and employability and enterprise resources that fit with these streams of activity. These programmes and resources will be delivered centrally in the Centre for Student Life and in academic Schools in the University.
This post will require the successful candidate to support the student learning experience at Cardiff University through the development, delivery and facilitation of activities, initiatives, and resources that champion creativity, collaboration, and new ways of thinking that align with our Graduate Attributes.
Working in both the physical and digital space, you will continue to build and further establish positive working relationships across the University, contributing to a range of joint enterprise projects and initiatives between students, academic staff, and Student Futures.
Experience of working in Higher Education is not a prerequisite for the post as the successful candidate will be required to commence and complete an associate fellowship that is timebound and essential for this post. Please ensure you have given consideration to this commitment when applying for the post.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025, to start as soon as possible.
This post is full-time, (35 hours per week) with working remotely for part of the week a possibility.
Salary: £32,332 – £34,980 per annum, pro rata for hours worked (Grade 5)
