Delegates from across the UK congregated at Coventry University on Wednesday 17th April 2019 for the launch of the first collaborative Community of Interest (CoI); Research in Enterprise Education (REntEd).A collaboration between Enterprise Educators UK and Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the REntEd CoI is intended to explicitly link together the research and practice arms of the EntEd discipline.

Delegates enjoyed a full programme of activities including the importance and need for continuing research into enterprise education with Dr Sarah Preedy (Plymouth Marjon University); how to submit to a conference or journal paper with Dr Kelly Smith(Co-chair of REntEd, Coventry University); and the challenges of connecting research, policy and practice for entrepreneurship education in an unpredictable world with Professor David Rae(De Montfort University).  Dr Emily Beaumont (Plymouth Marjon University) also outlined the opportunity to consider contribution to a future Special Edition on the topic of extra-curricular enterprise education.

This is a new but progressive CoI and that welcomes individuals from both the research and practitioner community. Co-Chair Dr Emily Beaumont notes, ‘The COI will support and bring through the next generation of EntEd leaders, providing a forum for co-development of research projects exploring practice outcomes, and to promote research-informed practice.’
