Students from three leading creative arts institutions came together for an intensive weekend of learning and collaboration.

The event was run as part of the two year StART Entrepreneurship Project (StART), and involved students from each of the three collaborating institutions; University of the Arts London (UaL), Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD), and Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). The project aims to support professional development of students in the creative arts sector. Funded by Office for Students and Research England, the project is developing new and enhanced tuition and a range of knowledge exchange activities.

The two-day entrepreneurship bootcamp, the ‘KickStART Creative Lab’, was run on the theme of ‘Connect, Collaborate, Create’ and included group sessions, keynotes, and networking. It aimed to tailor content to entrepreneurship-related skills for creative industries students, and to impact future career decisions and plans. Feedback from the students indicated that these aims were met, and that the event was accessible, inclusive and engaging. Further learnings and feedback will be incorporated in future event design, and the whole event was captured in a series of live illustrations by Camille Aubry.
