Understanding academics sense of belonging with their discipline, teaching, and institution. A sense of belonging can be defined as one’s personal feeling of connectedness to their institution or group.

The aim of this study is to understand the extent to which the different forms of belonging influence academics’ level of engagement in their discipline, classroom, and organization. With the results we hope to help universities improve academics’ sense of belonging and develop strategies to nurture the different forms of belonging which may consequently enhance academics’ involvement in work practices.
